- Accelerated BSN option (for those with prior bachelor’s degrees)

But these options might not be available at every campus location.
The accelerated BSN program works great if you have non-nursing bachelor’s or graduate degrees. You can complete it in as little as 18 months. This six-quarter, full-time program has rigorous coursework, hands-on laboratory training, and clinical rotations.
Graduates gain critical thinking, interpersonal, and technical skills of a nurse generalist. The program also creates a strong academic foundation for graduate education. On top of that, it emphasizes ethical decision-making, effective communication, leadership, and management throughout the curriculum.

Licensed Practical Nurses can move up in their careers through the LPN-to-BSN track. The program recognizes your healthcare knowledge and experience. This creates a smoother path toward your bachelor’s degree in nursing.
The RN-to-BSN program helps registered nurses with an associate degree or diploma take their next step. This online program improves your professional knowledge and opens new job opportunities. You’ll develop advanced skills through nursing research, community health, physical assessment, legal and ethical issues, and disease management.
RN-to-BSN students can finish in just 57 credits for approximately $14,535 with the right transfer credits and admission requirements. The program has planned clinical practice experiences. These help you apply new knowledge and show what you’ve learned while faculty supervise your progress.

The hybrid/online BSN option lets you complete select courses online, while lab hours and testing take place on campus during weekdays or weekends. Students can access this format at Nashville, Knoxville, Atlanta, and Orlando campuses. The program blends online classes with in-person labs and clinical training in medical facilities to prepare students for healthcare team roles.

Entry Criteria & Prerequisites
Getting into South College’s BSN programs means meeting both college-wide standards and specific nursing requirements. You’ll need to meet South College’s general admission standards first. Meeting these standards doesn’t guarantee your spot in nursing programs.
The Traditional BSN track takes an integrated look at your academic qualifications, educational background, and test scores. You’ll need to meet these requirements:
- Submit a School of Nursing application by the deadline
- Score at the simple academic preparedness level on the ATI TEAS Assessment
- Complete all prerequisite courses with C grades or better
- Keep a minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA in general education/core prerequisites
- Achieve a minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA in required science prerequisites
The TEAS Assessment plays a key role in your application. You can take the test three times within 12 months to get the required simple score. Class sizes are limited, and admission is competitive. The school ranks applicants based on their GPA and TEAS performance.
The RN-to-BSN pathway has simplified requirements that we designed for licensed professionals. This track needs:
- Proof of current unencumbered RN license or proof that you’ll become licensed
- Associate degree or Diploma in Nursing
Transfer students should note that previous nursing courses must be from the last 18 months before your cohort start date. Only nursing courses with A or B grades qualify for transfer. The school might need to review your syllabus to check if courses match up.
It’s worth mentioning that students who weren’t in good standing at a previous nursing or allied health program must submit a School of Nursing Mitigating Circumstances Form with documentation. Students dismissed from two previous programs can’t join South College Nursing programs.
